RoutePathIQ is made by Snare Intelligence Labs, LLC. This policy covers the RoutePathIQ app on iOS and Android — what it collects, how it's used, and your choices.
RoutePathIQ requests your device location to center the map on where you are, use it as a starting point for route searches, and sort suggested roads by distance. Location is sent to our routing provider, HERE Technologies, as part of each route, traffic, and weather request — that's how those results get computed. Your most recent location fix is also cached locally on your device (see 2.4) so the app starts up faster.
When you report a road hazard, you can optionally attach a photo from your camera or photo library. That photo is uploaded and stored so other drivers can see it alongside the report. If you don't attach one, no photo data is collected.
The hazard type, any note you write, the coordinates, and a timestamp are stored so the report can be shown to other drivers on the map, and so other drivers can confirm ("still there") or dismiss ("gone") it. This content is not tied to a personal identity — RoutePathIQ doesn't have user accounts, so there's no name, email, or login associated with a report.
Your last known location (for a faster app start) and your Cruise Mode "Route Style" preference are saved locally on your device using standard app storage. Neither is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
Like any app that makes network requests, connecting to our service providers below exposes ordinary technical data (such as IP address) to them as an unavoidable part of how the internet works. We don't separately collect or log this ourselves.
We share information only with the service providers that make the app's features work — never for advertising, and never sold to data brokers.

Hazard reports remain visible while the community treats them as current — confirmed by other drivers marking them "still there," and removed when marked "gone" or once they age past the point of being useful. Locally-stored data (2.4) stays on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall it.
RoutePathIQ is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Data in transit to our service providers is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we don't take that as license to be careless with it.
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use RoutePathIQ after a change means you accept the updated policy.
